Sunday, May 3 :: Nordlingen, Germany :: 73 km / 202 km total
Today's ride was flat and fast, much of the time being riverside rail-trail style. Many locals out today, cycling, jogging, or dogwalking. We've seen quite a few bike tourists like ourselves, mostly in 1's and 2's. The high topped off around 23C today - the first time in shorts this trip.
We zipped along through many small, sleepy villages before coming to Donauworth and crossing the Donau (Danube) River. Our route coincided with the Danube Radweg (cyclepath) for about a kilometre... the Danube path extends, as far as I know, for over a thousand km's to the East... this route was shortlisted for last year's trip which ended up being Tuscany. Anyways, after a long lunch and short museum stop we decided to make for Nordlingen. A flat, fast, featureless ride had us there by 5pm. Now that the long weekend is over, accomodation is again more than plentiful and we were among the few guests at the hotel.
